'Digital Surgical Orthodontic Clinic'
Orthognathic surgery is a treatment for the
patients with a severe imbalance between the upper and lower jaws. The Digital Surgical Orthodontic Clinic provides
a comprehensive examination of facial bones and teeth, efficient and accurate
pre- and post-operative orthodontic treatments, and individualized 3D surgical
plans, with various digital equipment.
More precise diagnosis became possible not
only by static tests such as an examination of occlusion and skeletal
structures, but also by dynamic tests such as masticatory movement and occlusal
force exam, temporomandibular joint movement exam, respiratory function test,
and polysomnography.
Based on the results of the examination, treatment
plans tailored to each patient can be established in a team approach with the
Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, resulting in the increase of the
stability and accuracy of the orthognathic surgeries.
Using digital simulation before and after
surgery, we provide information about the effects and limitations of surgical
orthodontic treatment to the patient, and decide the optimal treatment
together. It is possible to overcome the limitations of conventional diagnostic
tools, by scanning the oral cavity with a digital intraoral scanner and
matching it with 3D CT image. In addition, surgical wafers manufactured through
digital simulation are more precise and less time-consuming than manual
manufacturing methods.
